Our Lenten observance begins this evening, with the appointed lessons and homily.
The Celebrant will then invite the People to the observance of a holy Lent, after which the Ashes will be blessed and imposed upon the foreheads of all who wish.
The Litany of Penitence serves as the Prayers of the People, followed by the Absolution and the Peace.
Our first Lenten celebration of the Holy Eucharist concludes the service.
