13th Sunday after Pentecost

Today's 1st lesson continues the series of important readings from Exodus.  Today, we hear of Moses' encounter with God (Yahweh) in the form of the burning bush.  In this encounter, God charges Moses to go to Pharaoh to demand the release of His people.

When Moses asks how he should answer when the Egyptians ask the name of the god who sent him, the revealed Name is "I AM WHO I AM" (Yahweh).

The second lesson continues Paul's Epistle to the Romans.

In today's Gospel reading, Jesus reveals His destiny in Jerusalem to His disciples.
